The University was built in at 1976 and it was started with three faculties only; they are faculty of Science, faculty of education and faculty of Agriculture. Nowadays, the university became big and big, where there are many faculties were built in different cities. The center of university was in Ismallia and there are many faculties distributed in other cities such as Suez, Port Said and Sinai. The University now consists of faculty of Medicine, pharmacy, Dentist, Engineer, Petroleum Engineering, Veterinary, Economic, Hotel and tourism these beside the main faculties which includes faculty of Science, faculty of education and faculty of Agriculture. The staff members of the university became very famous and occupy critical position in the government inside and outside Egypt. The graduated students of the university take parts in all fields and do their effort to achieve the progress of our nation. As the Prot Said and Suez branches became bigger with time recently, they will be separate Universities away from the mother one in Ismallia. |

The Chemistry Department was devided into three scientific Categories. One is Organic,the other is non organic and the third one is Physical chemistry. The department is cosists of about 35 staff member as they are Prof. Dr , Prof Assistance and Lecturers, in the other hand there are a lot of assistances, Techniqans, emplyee and wokers. The department staff member qualify the students of many faculties such as Education Dentest, Pharmacy, Science and Veterinary students and this reflects the great importance of chemistry department in the Whole education process. The Professors of Chemistry department occupy many critical position as two Prof was Head of university, two Prof. was dean of faculty also they occupied the possition of co dean. It is also important to remember that the dean of faculty is aslo from chemistry of the department |

This project is mainly addressing the needs of the department of Chemistry to developing the teaching process of organic chemistry courses. The current situation in labs is poor especially in relation to the equipment and facilities. Lack of proper resources and equipment has a negative impact on students’ achievement levels moreover their creativity and initiativity skills necessary for a competitive generation in a global world. |

The Higher Education Enhancement Project Fund (HEEPF) is a part of the loan agreement, loan number 4658 EGT, dated April 2002, between the ARE and IBRD, to support and Finance priority areas of the strategic plan of the higher Education Enhancement Project (HEEP).
